I'm too dumb for this site

Why can I not edit/delete entries? Am I stupid or is the option not there? I looked everywhere last night and then decided that I was just too tired and it would all make sense in the morning. No such luck. I still can't find it.

Maybe I need to switch journal styles? Leave it to me to pick the one that doesn't actually work. heh.

ETA: NEVER MIND I FOUND IT. It's not at all intuitive that you have to click on the subject line of the post to make those options come up. I don't even know why I tried it myself, just a "what happens when I do this?" mentality, I guess.

EDIT #2: I changed styles, even though I don't like the black background or the design all that much. At least all the doohickeys I need are visible and available.

It's laid out more intuitively in the Negative Black style which is why I keep that style despite the white on black.

But anyway, YAY, You're here! I was just thinking that you were missing.

I picked this one because I can't read white on black. Maybe they'll have more options when the open beta starts.

I'm still trying to track down people to add by skulking around other people's info pages. That's kind of fun. ;)

I know! Skulking around and finding old friends as well as new friends with similar interests! It's a whole new world (to quote Disney).

OMG I just discovered the "light style" button on the bar the top. I LOVE IT! wheeee! Finally, something I know and recognize.

OOOhhhh, I hadn't used that before! Nifty!

Ooooh. Now that's handy. I hadn't noticed that--I think I'm trained to ignore the bar.

It's the closed beta thing--it will get prettier and easier to use pretty quickly over the next several weeks. Meanwhile, every time I post a "huh, I wonder how you do X" thing, someone comes along and says "Try this!"--often someone I don't even know. So that's pretty cool!

Also! One of the things Denise and the docs team is talking about doing is making a page with a screen shot of the various pages in DW, and little arrows that point to all the things, that say stuff like: Did you know that clicking the little guy next to folks' usernames takes you to their profile? Etc. Kind of like those anatomy drawings in grade school.

Because the FAQ on that stuff would be long and unwieldy, and more people didn't know about that stuff (still, even after all these years on LJ) than did.

And I changed back to the black one, too. New styles are coming soon! In the meantime, you're right, the black one has more of the features visible. I hadn't even noticed that until you mentioned it. :D

I'll try to be patient because I do understand that it's all new and still a work in progress. I just, you know, don't deal well with change. *g* I've had the same journal style on LJ for so many years anything else just throws me. That's why I didn't take to insanejournal. The pages were just too hard to read and I couldn't do a ?style=mine to make them more appealing. Discovering the light style option here is helping me tremendously in that regard.
