Trying to find new users to add to my circle over here by going through interests is very frustrating. Most of the journals I find that I might want to add haven't been updated in months.

Then I see that I haven't updated in 26 weeks. OOPS.

Anyway. Um, are there any active Alkaline Trio or Skiba fans over here? I'll also take PATD and PStump fans. Is there anyone in your circle that you think would be my kind of person? Please, leave me recs.

I know I have said this before and failed to follow up but I really do want to start using this thing. I just need more people to read and a better layout. And I need to set up Semagic or some other client because ugh webposting. I can't remember what tags I've used from one post to the next. heh.

But that's something for later this evening. Right now I'm going to go out and enjoy the sunshine and plant some flowers. I love spring. ♥

[personal profile] octette (lalejandra) just went to see Patrick Stump and thought it was the best show she'd ever been to.

Yay spring!

I'm looking for more people over here, too. As LJ continues to get effed up, I think more people will migrate.

Unfortunately, I think you have the same circle of people I do here at this point. :)

But if you find anyone, introduce them around!

And yeah, spring has been awesome and today the sun is quite pretty. I may well start planting my veggies.

Sorry, I have no recommendations off the top of my head.

I hope you enjoy your spring day!

Well, I'm already here, as you probably know ::g:: and I do like PATD and PStump but am not fannish about them (just own the albums), but in terms of using things like Semagic and the crossposting feature, this link is one I memoried and may be helpful. Basically, it's a round up of other useful posts such as people talking about how the importer works and cross posting via semagic. The latter one isn't the tutorial I used, but it seems in much the same vein.

The only thing to be cautious of is that if you have crossposting enabled on DW already, and then crosspost on an entry by entry basis using semagic (which is what [personal profile] ames's post tells you how to do), you will end up with duplicate entries on the sites you cross post to. E.g. if you have it set up to cross post to LJ on DW, and then use semagic to cross post as well, you'll end up with two entries on LJ - the one you posted using semagic and the one DW then cross post again. It didn't work like that originally, so it caught me out when they changed the DW coding.

I got around that by now using semagic to post most things just to DW and letting it cross post, or swapping usernames easily in semagic (which you can do from the 'journal' drop down list in the upper right hand corner of the semagic screen as long as you've told it to remember passwords for all your accounts) and just posting to LJ and IJ if that's what I want to do.

The other thing to bear in mind is that if you use that option, it won't update your journal access list unless you log into that particular account. What that means in plain English (I hope!) is that if you log in to DW in semagic normally and have joined a community on LJ, you can swap to your LJ account in semagic, but it won't show that you can post to that community. If you update your friends list in semagic, it will update it to show that you and the community are mutually 'friends', but it still won't give you access to post to that community from the client. That caught me out as well, but it's easily fixable by simply logging out of semagic and then logging back in but with the username of the account that needs updating. So in that example, you'd log out of semagic and log into LJ, and lo, new community listed in your post options.

It all sounds very complicated but it's really not :)

[personal profile] tempore pretty much summed up what I was going to say. [Well, except for the part about plants. Though I too love Spring. ;D] But I did want to say hello and let you know I'm working on being more active over here too. I've decided that crossposting to LJ from here is how I'm going to proceed from this point onward. I wish I could offer advice on backing up your journal... maybe check the official dW feed? I think I saw something there.

Um, I'm a fan of how you write Skiba, anyway. I could follow you around like a creepy little kid at the mall! :D? :D?
